Employability Bridgend’s ‘Summer of Fun’ events are already proving popular with local families, with over 150 children attending the first event held at Bryngarw Country Park last week. Neath-based construction firm J.G. Hale Construction has completed work on an innovative development for housing provider Pobl Group, which has created 45 new sustainable homes alongside a community hub in the Treberth area of Newport. The development, which is designed for residents over 55, has now been handed over to Pobl Project Manager, Ian Williams. Midtec, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of chimney cowls and flue systems has completed the construction of 2500 square feet of additional manufacturing space at Capel Hendre Industrial Estate near Ammanford, using a £220,000 loan from the Development Bank of Wales. A 500 year-old oak tree in Monmouthshire is among the unique specimens in the running to be crowned the prestigious winner of the Woodland Trust’s Tree of the Year for 2022.
