A pioneering rural education centre that’s transforming the lives of unemployed people and youngsters excluded from school is expanding its reach into new areas. MORE than £870,000 has been pumped into Denbighshire’s voluntary sector through the DVSC Key Fund, backing 51 organisations and helping services on the ground grow, adapt and reach more people. The funding programme, one of the most in-demand DVSC has delivered, drew 99 applications from across the county. An incredible £871,620 was awarded in the last year, including £212,114 in capital funding for buildings, equipment and long-term assets, and £659,506 in revenue funding to keep services running or expand on what’s already working. Pendine Sands will come alive with the sound of history next month as the legendary land speed record car Babs returns to mark a major milestone in British motorsport. A major repair scheme on a key road near Aberdare is set to resume next month, with work continuing throughout 2026. Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council has confirmed that works on the Afon Cynon Bridge on the A4059 near Cwmbach will restart in early April, with initial setup and investigation activity already underway. The Caerphilly Challenge Series will take a break this year, with organisers confirming plans for a refreshed return in 2027.
