The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in Wales following this week’s record temperatures. The warning is in place from 10am to 10pm this evening. While some areas will remain dry, slow moving, heavy thunderstorms are likely to develop from mid to late morning, likely peaking during the afternoon and early evening before decaying later. Aldi has announced it is looking to hire around 43 people in its warehouse in Cardiff over the next 12 months. In a welcome boost to the local economy, the UK’s fifth-largest supermarket is also looking to fill transport and warehouse roles at its Cardiff Regional Distribution Centre. Macmillan Cancer Support is warning cancer treatment waiting times in Wales have once again reached their lowest point since records began, with almost 50% of people with cancer facing worrying delays in their treatment. Published today, the latest data shows that in May only 53% of cancer patients started their treatment within 62 days – well below Wales’ national target of treating 75% of people on time. TWO local school friends with more than thirty years’ combined experience in optical care have been appointed to lead the city’s Specsavers store. Christopher Jones, 35, has been promoted to retail director, while Hayley Jones, also 35, has progressed to store manager at the Kingsway store.
