A three-man team of cyclists from a leading food supplier are aiming to deliver the goods for a grocery charity when they tackle a gruelling three-day cycle ride from Caernarfon to Cardiff. Two beekeeping craft brewer brothers behind Wye Valley Meadery are buzzing after their take on the world’s oldest drink, mead, won a UK accelerator programme for aspiring brewers, supported by leading UK accountancy firm Johnston Carmichael Matt Newell, 33, and Kit, 31, keep over six million bees in the Wye Valley, south Wales, and the honey they produce is then fermented and turned into the alcoholic drink at their Meadery in Caldicot. A world without communication is an everyday reality for the 350,000 stroke survivors in the UK with aphasia like Mark Leather from Cardiff– aphasia is a communication disability that is most commonly caused by stroke. Aphasia can affect a person’s ability to speak, read, write and use numbers, but it does not affect intellect. Mark Leather from Cardiff had a stroke at the age of 55 in 2018. RNLI lifeguards have now returned to Rest Bay, joining Coney / Sandy Bay and Trecco Bay which are already patrolled daily by the charity’s lifeguards between 10am-6pm. Rest Bay will also be kitted out with the latest technology, which will help to make the beach even safer. Visitors can scan QR codes, which will then provide up to date accurate information about the current conditions. Welsh Government plans to improve bus services across Wales are being considered by Cardiff Council. Clive Sullivan, the Cardiff-born sporting legend set to be immortalised by a new statue in his home city, is to be honoured at this year’s Rugby League World Cup. Walking and cycling routes in Swansea are set to be expanded after Swansea Council secured millions in Welsh Government funding.  The Council has received confirmation from the WG of more than £8 million of transport funding which will be invested in the city’s growing walking and cycle network. Part of the funding will also be used to improve main routes in the city for public transport, in a bid to improve bus services and speed up journeys for passengers. A pair of nesting seagulls who held up the opening of the popular Aquasplash attraction on Aberavon Beach have abandoned the nest paving the way for the opening of the facility to the public. The Herring Gulls established their nest on a large ‘tipping bucket’ feature in the water park and Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) it meant the nesting pair could not be disturbed until the nest was empty.
