A newly redeveloped skatepark in Pentwyn was officially opened this week. Parc Coed y Nant skatepark is avibrant new facility designed to serve young people and the wider community of Pentwyn. Located behind Pentwyn Leisure Centre, the park replaces outdated equipment with a modern 300m² concrete SPOT-style design, developed following extensive community consultation and input from local ward members. The redevelopment has been delivered as part of the Council’s Neighbourhood Renewal Scheme programme and with funding from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. Staff at travel and leisure company TUI say they’ll be proud to work at a new office development in Swansea city centre. TUI are among a number of tenants already confirmed for the 71/72 Kingsway scheme at the former Oceana nightclub site. Developed by Swansea Council and part-funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal, the development will accommodate up to 600 jobs. TUI staff currently based at Alexandra House will move there in the coming weeks, helping to retain jobs in the city centre. CARDIFF-based fabricator Dudley’s Aluminium has secured three new projects within the education sector as the new academic year begins. Dudley’s Aluminium will work alongside Wilmott Dixon to install Kawneer curtain walling, windows and doors on two projects: Glyncoch Primary School based in Rhondda Cynon Taf, an English medium primary school which is being built to Passivhaus standards, and Airfield Primary Academy, a 630-place school in Weston-super-Mare.
