End of season work is set to take place across the county’s wildflower meadows. From the beginning of August, the second cut of the season will take place at the Council’s Wildflower Meadows Project sites. This year’s season includes over a 100 managed wildflower meadows that have contributed to improved species richness across Denbighshire. These make up nearly 35 football pitches worth of native wildflower habitat. A charity ride championed by a Welsh sporting legend is making a real difference to people receiving pioneering cancer treatments in Swansea’s Singleton Hospital. In September, former rugby union and league star Jonathan Davies will once again lead Jiffy’s Cancer 50 Challenge. This is a 50-mile ride from Cardiff to Swansea, with the funds raised donated to cancer services at Velindre and Singleton hospitals. A Prestatyn-based artisan cheese shop has aided in Welsh translation service Helo Blod’s one million word milestone after using the service to connect with their customers. The Little Cheesemonger shop is a specialist cheese shop stocking Welsh cheese from North to South Wales as well as fine British and European cheeses, and Welsh gin.
