Local Cardiff charity, City Hospice, are holding their annual Light Up A Life Remembrance Service to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones. The free service will be held on December 2 in the grounds of the Cardiff Hospice and will feature a variety of Christmas songs and carols from schools and local choirs before the Christmas tree lights are switched on. Denbighshire County Council is carrying out a full refurbishment of the former East Parade Café to create a new safe space to support young people. The modern Youth Centre will create a comfortable environment for young people to develop skills and access tailored support through activities and training. A cancer recovery patient who is embarking on a year of grueling sporting challenges every month has revealed his next madcap exploit for the disability charity Sense. In preparation for his December challenge, Rob Lloyd from Rhos On Sea gave up his trademark locks at ‘An Evening with Bruce Grobbelaar’ – a fundraiser for the cause last week. Now Rob is preparing for a Grand Tour of Wales by running, cycling and walking 379 miles from Wrexham to Newport over 10 consecutive days starting on December 3rd. Applications for the Weston Charity Awards 2022 are officially open thanks to a partnership between The Garfield Weston Foundation and its charity partner, Pilotlight. Now in its eighth year, the awards offer a package of support worth over £22,000 to small charities in Wales, the North of England, and the Midlands. Well known Pembrokeshire dairy farmer, Dai Miles, who farms just outside of Haverfordwest has been selected as the winner of the 2021 Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) award for the person who has made an outstanding contribution to the Welsh Dairy industry.
