A £10,000 donation has been presented to Marie Curie, thanks to a recycling scheme supported by Swansea Crematorium. Marie Curie were delighted to accept the donation having been nominated by the Crematorium recently.  The charity provides care and support to people living with terminal illness, and their families.  Their local team of nurses visit the homes of patients at their end of life, providing hands on care whilst also supporting the family.  More recently, Marie Curie recently launched a free bereavement service, offering support to those dealing with the death of a loved one, whether recently or some time ago.…

It’s a month of celebrations at the British Heart Foundation’s Furniture and Electrical Store in Bridgend, with a long-standing volunteer having his contribution recognised, the shop marking its 10th anniversary, and the charity’s 60th birthday, all happening in July. A leading food supply company is ahead of the curve after recruiting 15 drivers as a nationwide shortage made worse by the ‘pingdemic’ hits UK deliveries of fresh food. Many supermarkets and wholesalers have been forced to reduce deliveries or even shut down and big gaps have appeared on the shelves as staff are forced to self-isolate after being pinged by NHS Track and Trace. Detectives investigating an assault which has left the victim in a life-threatening condition in hospital have this evening charged two men with attempted murder. Jason Edwards, 25, and Lee William Strickland, 36, both from Cardiff, have been remanded in custody to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Monday (July 26), following the assault at Bute Park in the early hours of Tuesday, July 20. A 52-year-old man remains in a serious condition at the University Hospital of Wales. His family are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers. HM Coastguard’s first operational drone flight will join manned helicopters, planes, boats and cliff rescue teams on lifesaving missions at sea and over land in North Wales for the first time, this summer. The drone, initially trialled a year ago during the first easing of pandemic restrictions, will fly from the HM Coastguard helicopter base at Caernarfon, and will also participate in a series of major training exercises with other 999 teams.
