ASH Wales is calling for Welsh Government to protect children’s health by banning smoking in Welsh beer gardens. It wants legislation that came into force in March banning smoking in the grounds of schools, hospitals and in playgrounds, to be extended to the outdoor seating areas of pubs, bars and restaurants. A fully funded after-work programme designed to support more young people into starting businesses is set to launch in Rhondda Cynon Taf. A 2020* UK survey found that 64% of the workforce wished to start a business, and of those, 83% were aged between 18 and 24. A mum-of-two who worked on the coronavirus frontline after fulfilling her ambition of qualifying as a nurse is spearheading a drive to attract new recruits from across North Wales to the profession.
