A contractor has been appointed to build a major new high-tech office development that will provide space for 600 jobs in Swansea city centre. Bouygues UK will start work this summer on construction of the multi-million pound scheme at the 71/72 The Kingsway site where the former Oceana nightclub once stood. Hundreds of people have supported City Hospice’s Forever Flowers campaign in the first few weeks since the launch. The campaign invites supporters to purchase a limited-edition flower, designed and expertly crafted by the British Ironworks Centre, to remember cherished family members, friends and loved ones. Children, young people and their families will get help to manage their weight when a unique new service launches in Swansea Bay later this year. It will be run by the health board, with Welsh Government funding as part of its 10-year Healthy Weight, Healthy Wales delivery plan. Businesses and cyclists have welcomed an £80,000 new lighting scheme along the promenade in West Cross. The low-level, environmentally-friendly lights are being funded by Swansea Council, thanks to a scheme for smaller-scale projects in communities across the city.
