Leading giftware designer and importer Something Different Wholesale is purchasing the 61,000 sq ft Building H it currently leases on Swansea Enterprise Park and also purchasing the adjacent buildings, totalling a further 96,000 sq ft.  It will spend around £1 million renovating and remodelling the units to suit its growing business. Swansea Council has deployed extra resources to the Mayhill and Waun Wen area of the city following Thursday night’s disorder (May 20). Council teams have been on site to lead the clean-up operation and help make people’s properties safe and secure. This includes helping with repairs to damaged doors and windows. Council officers will also be removing any burned-out cars and repairing damaged areas of roads and pavements. More than 132,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine have now been given to Bridgend County Borough residents. Across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board area, 80% of people have had one dose and one in three are fully vaccinated. A total of 421,277 vaccines have been given, which is made up of 291,479 first doses and 129,798 second doses. The total number of doses for Bridgend County Borough now stands at 132,905, with 40,009 residents fully vaccinated. Bridgend County Borough Council has further extended its concessionary rent scheme for market traders and occupiers of small industrial units. The 50 per cent discount will now be in place until 31 August 2021. It forms part of a phased series of concessionary rent rates which were originally introduced to support small and medium-sized businesses as they reopened following the initial pandemic lockdown.
