Denbighshire County Council is urging visitors to the hotspot to park responsibly this holiday and look to plan ahead to visit other nearby attractions that are available across the Dee Valley if this area is busy. Residents in Cefnpennar may notice work activity over the next two weeks as a culvert survey is carried out on a local spoil tip, using Welsh Government funding. The Cefnpennar colliery spoil tip is inspected monthly as part of the routine work by the Council’s dedicated Coal Tip Safety Team. Recent site activity has seen blockstones and fencing put in place to prevent unauthorised access to the tip, as well as some drainage works. A new pre-paid card will be rolled out across Wales to give people who receive gluten-free food on prescription greater choice and freedom. The card will allow people with conditions like coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis to access a wider range of gluten-free foods in supermarkets and online instead of relying only on a prescription. The National Gluten-Free Subsidy Card Scheme – a UK first – is an alternative way for people to access these foods. The number of people waiting more than an hour to transfer from an ambulance into an emergency department in Wales has fallen by almost a fifth. Health Secretary Jeremy Miles this week visited the Royal Glamorgan Hospital where significant improvements have been made in cutting long ambulance patient handover times. The overall time the Welsh Ambulance Service waits to transfer people to staff at the hospital’s emergency department fell by more than 87% in June compared with May and almost three-quarters of people were transferred in just 15 minutes.
