A new fund of over £1m to help Wales’ unpaid carers cope with the financial pressures of Covid-19 has been announced by the Deputy Health Minister. Open to carers across Wales, the Carers Support Fund will see grants of up to £300 made available for a range of essentials, including; food, household items such as furniture or white goods, or electronics such as a laptop for access to support and services. The Outward Bound Trust is forging ahead with exciting new plans to take its outdoor adventures directly into Welsh classrooms, to ensure young people don’t miss out on outdoor learning cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic. A 37 year-old man was seriously assaulted in Castle Street car park at approximately 5.30am on Sunday, 11th October, 2020. He is currently at Prince Charles Hospital in a critical condition. Kellogg’s factory, on Bryn Lane in Wrexham, has donated £5,000 to five local charities. The funds have been divided between charities that have been chosen by the factory’s own employees. Dynamic, Hope House, Nightingale House, Llangollen Canal Boat Trust and the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital each received a £1,000 donation from the cereal giant, all of which had been selected as they were close to employee’s hearts.
