South Wales Police attended a large gathering of people for an illegal rave in the Banwen area. Some music equipment has since been removed after a section 63 notice was issued and two organisers have also been issued with fixed penalty notices for £10,000. Police have also issued a number of section 59 orders for people using their vehicles in an anti-social manner. South Wales Police is appealing for information after a fatal road traffic collision, which occurred at about 6.10pm yesterday (Sunday 30 August) on the Gurnos Ring Road at its junction with Goitre Lane, Gurnos, Methyr Tydfil. The incident involved a Red Kawasaki Motorcycle and a Black Ford Focus Motor Car. Sadly the 42 year old male rider of the motorcycle died and his family are being supported by a specially trained liaison officer. RSPCA Cymru has praised “magical microchipping” – after a cat who had been missing since December was reunited with his owners. Black cat Sparkle had been missing for eight months before being found only 1.5 miles from his Michaelston Road home in Cardiff. The RSPCA was alerted after the cat was seen on nearby Hengoed close with an injury to the base of his tail.
