A former ambulance is back on the road delivering a vital service that the pandemic had severely disrupted. It was donated to the health board’s sexual health service to provide outreach services and to support the more vulnerable in society – such as homeless people and sex workers. More than 60 kilos of cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin with a street value of an estimated £6 million and £2,500,000 in cash has been seized in police raids across southern Wales after a massive breakthrough by UK law enforcement agencies where they took down a bespoke encrypted global communication service used exclusively by criminals. The Stroke Association is revealing a concerning new trend: the most at risk groups are least likely to call 999 due to not wanting to “burden the already busy emergency services”, which is causing people to die at home. Welsh aluminium fabricator, Dudley’s Aluminium, has begun work on two police headquarters in South Wales. The first of the two builds is the South Wales Police Headquarters situated in Bridgend. South Wales Police is the largest police force in Wales, serving communities across the region between Swansea and Cardiff. The project, valued at £1.4 million, includes a four-story police learning centre, a human resources building and a two-story gym. The funding from the National Lottery Community Fund will support the Merched y Wawr charity’s work in developing technology skills in the community, and the national center in Aberystwyth will also see investment in technical resources. The First Minister will confirm that conditions will allow the Welsh Government to lift the requirement to stay local and to introduce changes to the regulations to enable families to be reunited once again. The £30m Aber Tai’r Meibion improvement scheme is moving ahead, with safety measures in place to allow work to begin should covid – 19 restrictions be in place at the time of construction. Detailed design work is currently underway and construction is now scheduled to begin in September.  Additional time and funding was required to plan the work so it could take place safely during the covid-19 pandemic.
