Deloitte has announced the appointment of the new senior partner for Deloitte in Wales. Ian Howse will take up his new role on 1 June this year when current senior partner Wayne Harvey retires. Michael Chalk, aged 51 has been missing since March 10. Michael was last seen following a road traffic collision at about 8pm where the car he was a passenger in collided with a wall in the Parkmill area of Swansea, on the junction between the A4118 and North Hills Lane that leads to the Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park. Business confidence in Wales continues to be low despite a slight uptick in the first half of March. Overall confidence rose four points during March to 2%, according to the latest Business Barometer from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. Confidence had fallen significantly in February amid widespread flooding across the nation. The new research, taken between the 2nd and 16th March, showed that Welsh businesses’ confidence in their own prospects grew by 7%. Edward Hughes Solicitors, based in Rhyl and Colwyn Bay, said incidents in the workplace continue to dominate caseloads. Latest statistics from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Labour Force Survey revealed in the last year more than 581,000 people sustained a non-fatal injury at work.
