Police are appealing for information following an unexplained death of a 50 year-old man from the Cwmbran area. His body was discovered by a member of the public at approximately midday on Sunday (8 September, 2019) as they walked along a piece of land within Taf Fechan Nature Reserve. Eleven colleagues at Pont Newydd Medical Centre in Porth are taking on a challenge to improve their own fitness and support Diabetes UK Cymru, inspired by their patients with diabetes. The team of colleagues, led by GP Karen Pascoe, are taking part in the charity’s One Million Steps Challenge. Angela May from Thornhill in Cardiff has been voted the best swimming teacher in Cardiff winning the first round of a national UK competition. Angela is 69 years old and has been teaching for over 30 years at Llanishen Better Leisure Centre. She was nominated by a combination of pupils, parents and work colleagues all of whom were impressed by her dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to her job. Cardiff’s Kyle Woodward has just returned from competing in the WorldSkills 2019 ‘Vocational Olympics’ held in Kazan in Russia as a member of the 30-strong Team UK.
