The Hodge Foundation, keen supporters of City Hospice, Cardiff’s local hospice, have donated £25,857 in order for the charity to buy a brand-new minibus for patients. Every Tuesday and Thursday, City Hospice goes out into the community to collect patients and bring them to hospice for Day Centre and various appointments with the clinical team. This means that families and carers are given some respite and the patient can enjoy an afternoon of activities, learn something new and chat to new friends, all whilst being in a supported environment with their clinical team close at hand. A dedicated children’s charity that makes seriously ill children’s dreams come true has appointed Mark Colbourne MBE and Alix Popham as ambassadors. Dreams & Wishes, established in South Wales in 2011, is an award-winning volunteer-based charity that uses every penny raised to support children across the UK with serious, often life-limiting illnesses and their families, and helping to build happy memories.
