Wales’ largest celebration of diversity and equality is bringing some extra love to its Big Weekend this summer, as Pride Cymru teams up with Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity. A Cardiff primary school teacher has been awarded Teacher of the Year 2019 for her outstanding work at Lakeside Primary School, Cyncoed. Holly Buse, who teaches Year 5 at Lakeside, was recognised for her efforts as part of the Twinkl Awards 2019 run by the international educational resource publisher, Twinkl.  Teaching staff from across the UK were asked to nominate their colleagues for the awards by providing testimonials about the impact they have had on their school and pupils.  Holly won ‘Teacher of the Year’ after her friend and colleague, Rachael Evans, submitted a heartfelt nomination of Holly. TOP British manufacturers have joined forces with Acorn Leisure to supply boutique timber lodges for a picturesque North Wales holiday park. [aoa id=”1″] The company will open phase one of its Maes Mynan lodge park development in Afonwen, near Caerwys, in September. Swansea Building Society is supporting Macmillan Cancer Support’s Gower Macmarathon for a fifth consecutive year, to continue to help raise money for the charity’s specialist cancer services. The 2019 Gower Macmarathon, which will see walkers enjoying Gower’s picturesque coastline, takes place on Saturday 14September. Headline sponsors Swansea Building Society will be welcoming people to join over 1000 walkers to complete the 22-mile Gower route to raise funds for Macmillan. Last year, the event raised £184,000.
