DC Mark Hopkins was charged with perverting the course of justice following an investigation by the South Wales Police Anti-Corruption Unit under the supervision of the Independent Office of Police Conduct. He was found guilty at Cardiff Crown Court yesterday and was today (Thursday, July 25) sentenced to four years’ imprisonment. New life has been breathed into South Wales’ oldest pub following an extensive three-year renovation supported by Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. A team of Product Designers from the Cerebra Innovation Centre – a partnership between the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) and the charity, Cerebra – has produced a specially adapted tennis ball shooter to enable a boy with cerebral palsy to throw a ball for his assistance dog. The family of a man who died following an assault in Swansea city centre have paid tribute to him. Mark Bloomfield, 54, died in hospital on Saturday following the incident on High Street last Thursday afternoon (July 18).
