Horses that have not been vaccinated against equine flu will not be allowed to enter Llanfyllin Show next month. The show, which is being held on Saturday, August 10, will be the 150th in the event’s history. Llanfyllin Show Committee followed the lead taken by the Royal Welsh Show on Tuesday to put the welfare of horses first. Show chairman Dyfrig Jones said: “It’s disappointing news for owners and the show committee but we must put the welfare of horses first. We will be checking the passports of all horses that are entered to ensure that they have been vaccinated.”…

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) is pleased to announce that Dr Jason Shannon has been appointed to the role of Lead Medical Examiner for Wales. Dr Shannon will oversee the Wales Medical Examiner Service that will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under a Coroner’s jurisdiction. Fans of the hit TV series, Gavin and Stacey, were treated to seeing their favourite stars in Barry on the weekend. TV favourites including James Corden (Smithy), Ruth Jones (Nessa), Mathew Horne (Gavin), Joanna Page (Stacey), and of course, legend Rob Brydon (Uncle Bryn) were all present for the filming. Cardiff Metropolitan University has launched a wellbeing app designed by primary pupils with university students to support schools and parents in enhancing children’s wellbeing. The iValue U Wellbeing App, which recently became available to download from the Apple App Store, was developed by Welsh primary pupils for other children. A Singleton Hospital worker was knocked off his motorbike and attacked by a man who threatened to stab him before making off with the bike. The worker has described how he did an emergency stop, thinking he had hit the man who had leapt out into the road in front of him. Wales’s biggest self-storage company just got even bigger with the announcement that they have added three more storage parks to their roster.
