Police in Cardiff are continuing to investigate a road traffic collision which happened on Newport Road at 11.15pm on Wednesday night (10th April). A 29-year-old female pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where her condition is described as critical but stable. A 27-year-old man from Swansea has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving following the collision outside the Lynx Hotel. Teenage Cancer Trust are on the lookout for hundreds of thrill-seekers to take on the world’s fastest zipwire at on 7 September. The event at Zip World in Penryn Quarry, North Wales, is in memory of Stephen Sutton, a teenager and viral campaigner from Burntwood who raised millions for Teenage Cancer Trust, the charity who supported him before his death in 2014. Visitors to Newport Transporter Bridge will be able to walk over the top of the iconic structure from April. [aoa id=”1″] However the motors on the Victorian Gondola which have been in constant operation since 1906, were found to need extensive repair after a routine maintenance inspection uncovered some worn out parts.
