Colleagues from local housing, support and care provider, Hafod, have raised a whopping £11,000 over the past year for their chosen charity partner, City Hospice. The Hafod fundraising team have organised a number of events including a Christmas raffle, bake sales, a poetry competition, dress down days, a Pen y Fan sponsored walk and much more. A stop and search in Rhondda led to the seizure of over £30,000 worth of class A drugs in January (2019). The drugs were discovered at a house in Elm Wood Drive, Tonyrefail, which was searched by police after they spotted a suspicious man leaving the address and followed him home. Officers found two small rocks of crack cocaine in the man’s pocket and secured a search warrant for the Elm Wood Drive address under the misuse of Drug Act. The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has revealed the award winners at its first major outdoor event of the year the RHS Flower Show Cardiff 2019, supported by Brewin Dolphin. At approximately 11:15am on Friday 12th April 2019 a Serious Personal Injury Road Traffic Collision occurred on the B4254 Ogmore By Sea, Bridgend. A red Suzuki motorcycle ridden by an 83 year old local man left the carriageway as the motorcycle was travelling towards Ogmore by Sea. The rider sustained serious head injuries & he was flown from the scene to University of Wales Hospital, Cardiff where his condition is described as serious. South Wales Police is today launching a fresh appeal to locate Mohammed Ali Ege who is wanted in connection with the 2010 murder of Aamir Siddiqi in Cardiff. Officers are seeking information from anyone in the UK and abroad about Ege’s whereabouts since he escaped from police custody in India two years ago – on 12th April 2017. South Wales Police continues to work with the National Crime Agency and international law enforcement agencies to trace Ege and return him to the UK.
