These prescriptions can only be written by hospital clinicians, and used for conditions ranging from cancer to rheumatology. The team manages the prescriptions from the moment they are written, all the way through delivery to the patient’s door. Each prescription has to be validated – checked – by hospital pharmacists to ensure they meet all the criteria. With the service having…

A village inn in the Vale of Clwyd claims to be the most haunted pub in North Wales after being home to seven ghosts. An exorcism a few years ago whittled that down to three but the Salusbury Arms in Tremeirchion, which features in the Domesday Book, is still certainly spook central. Locals from the Tremeirchion 2000 community organisation are even celebrating the supernatural ahead of Christmas with a ghost walk around the village near St Asaph which will feature several scary tales before they adjourn to the Salusbury. A former landlady, Glenys Taylor, who passed away in an upstairs…

Working with the Welsh Ambulance Service, the Acute GP Unit (AGPU) at Singleton Hospital already helps hundreds of people every month who don’t have life-threatening illnesses but still need urgent, unplanned care. Now, as unscheduled care demand increases during the winter months, the unit is poised to direct more patients to the most appropriate places for help rather than the Emergency Department (ED). When a 999 call comes in, the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust call handler determines its priority, and the call…
