Suicide is something that everyone can help to prevent, the Mental Health Foundation says today as it marks World Mental Health Day.  The theme of the day this year is suicide prevention. A COURAGEOUS breast cancer survivor who almost died after contracting sepsis will lead the charge against cancer at Cancer Research UK’s 10k night-time walk in Cardiff on 19 October. Liz Gooch from Pontypridd found out she had cancer after finding a lump in her left breast when she was 38. She was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and discovered she was a carrier of the BRCA1 cancer gene. BT has signed a deal to become the exclusive lead partner of Welsh football until 2024. Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) and Landsker Business Solutions have been appointed by the Development Bank of Wales to deliver £2 million of ring-fenced funding for social enterprises in Wales.  The funding comes from the Welsh Government-backed Wales Micro Loan Fund. From this £16.2 million fund the Development Bank is doubling the amount specifically for social enterprise businesses who will be able to apply for loans between £1,000 and £50,000 with up to ten-year repayment terms.
