A bakery’s products are going down so well with customers at high-end supermarket chain Waitrose that they have ordered five more from them to sell across the UK. The deal is a massive boost to the Wrexham-based Village Bakery who started out supplying just one Waitrose store in Menai Bridge 10 years ago and are now going nationwide in 220 of their supermarkets from Penzance to Aberdeen. South Wales Police are appealing for information after a burglary in Barry in which 11 French bulldogs were stolen. The burglary took place in Hillary Rise, Barry, on January 4, at around 9am. Eleven French bulldogs were taken which included five adults and six puppies. The stolen dogs were three lilac and tan adults (one male and two female), one sandy coloured female adult, one white female adult, as well as three white puppies (one male and two female) and three lilac and tan puppies (one male and two female). Green-fingered volunteers are being invited to help enhance the county’s environment. As part of Denbighshire County Council’s project to plant 18,000 trees in the county, a tree planting day will take place in Rhyl on Tuesday, January 22. PRICE promotions are largely to blame for shoppers in Wales stocking up on junk food, a new poll by Cancer Research UK has found. Almost nine in 10 (86%) of those questioned in the survey of over 1,000 people in Wales said they think that price deals offering extra items for free are influential in encouraging people to buy unhealthy food. South Wales Police is investigating a serious road traffic collision that occurred yesterday morning at 8.50am (Monday 7 January 2019) on the A4233 Porth near the roundabout at the A4058. The 76-year-old male driver of the black Citroen C1 motor vehicle, and the 53-year-old male driver of the silver Renault Trafic vehicle, were both injured.
