Cardiff’s popular bike share scheme is set to double next year with an additional 500 bikes, operator nextbike has confirmed. [aoa id=”1″] The expansion will see an extra 65 docking stations added to the existing city-wide network, with up to 10 additional jobs being created to service the extended fleet. And nextbike bosses revealed ambitions to introduce accessibility bikes to the scheme as part of the expansion to improve access for people with disabilities. Following a series of arrests last week in the Newport, Caerphilly and Cardiff areas Police officers from Tarian, the Regional Organised Crime Unit, supported by South Wales and Gwent Police  have carried out further arrests in Cardiff, Newport, Caerphilly and Liverpool. People living with dementia are spending an average of a month in hospital in Wales in their last year of life following emergency admission, a terminal illness charity has found. Data collected by Marie Curie revealed there were over 51,000 emergency admissions for people with any terminal condition in the last year of their life in Wales in 2016 – with further analysis revealing differences among patients with cancer or non-cancer diagnosis, and stark differences in particular for dementia patients. Some of Cardiff’s most vulnerable homeless people are set for an “unforgettable” Christmas thanks to 12 of the city’s leading law firms. Rough sleepers who are supported by Cardiff-based homelessness charity the Huggard Centre will benefit from a newly launched charitable initiative from expert legal firm CJCH Solicitors this December.
