Community groups, schools and third sector organisations across Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen are being invited to apply for funding through the new Community Cohesion Grant 2026. The grant programme aims to nurture and strengthen community cohesion by supporting projects that bring people together, promote inclusion and celebrate diversity across local communities. South Wales Police is investigating a serious assault in Lydstep Park, Gabalfa, Cardiff, which happened just before 7pm on Sunday, May 31. Two local boys aged 16 and 17 were taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with stab wounds. Their injuries are thankfully not life-threatening and one of the victims has been discharged from hospital. Detectives are hunting two suspects thought to have been riding a Surron bike in Lydstep Park and Gabalfa Avenue at the time of the assault. A knife has been recovered. A man from Swansea has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to being involved in the supply of cocaine. 51-year-old Keith Storer, from Loughor, was found in possession of the Class A substance when police attended an address to attend an unrelated report. A search of the address found extensive paraphernalia indicating that the occupant was involved in the ongoing supply of cannabis. After initially denying his involvement, Storer pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and possession of cocaine at Swansea Crown Court in April.…
