A group of creative schoolchildren have helped care home residents make colourful bunting to celebrate a special birthday. Their colourful designs are being strung around Pendine Park’s Gwern Alyn and Hillbury House in Wrexham to mark the 40th anniversary of the pioneering care organisation. The pupils of Ysgol Bodhyfryd, a Welsh language speaking primary school in Wrexham, have also designed and hand drawn a giant birthday card which they presented to the residents and staff. 260 guests gathered at The Parkgate Hotel earlier this month to fundraise with Business Beats Cancer Cymru and by raising over £50k again, the total has now tipped over the £100k mark in only two years. The end of a farm tenancy has resulted in a genuine and complete dispersal sale of farm implements, machinery, workshop tools and livestock equipment at a Welsh border dairy farm next month. On Friday May 10, 2024, a paramedic was attempting to treat Nigel Francis, 58 from Blaenymaes when he became aggressive. The incident happened in the Ravenhill area of Swansea. In the clip, Francis is seen being led to a police van in handcuffs when he spits in paramedic’s face. A 30-year-old man has been charged in connection with a murder investigation. Shortly before 12.30pm on Sunday, 23 February, officers were called to an address on the Gwynant estate in Acrefair, Wrexham. The call related to concerns for the safety of a 37-year-old male resident. Upon officers arriving at the scene, he was sadly pronounced deceased by attending paramedics. A Cardiff landlord who attempted to evict her tenant using WhatsApp has been prosecuted for unlawful eviction. At Cardiff Magistrates’ Court, Cardiff Council successfully prosecuted Nicole May, of Brooks Road, Old Trafford, Manchester, and she was ordered to pay £945, after pleading guilty to the charge of illegal eviction under the Protection from Eviction Act 1977. Neath Port Talbot Council has entered into an agreement with long established fairground company Studts Events Ltd to bring a spectacular, 118ft high ‘big wheel’ ride to the Aberavon Seafront this year.
