A man from Neath Port Talbot has been jailed for his dangerous and threatening behaviour towards a woman. 43-year-old David Smith, from Blaengwynfi, brandished a knife towards the woman while both were driving in separate cars near to the victim’s address on March 2 this year. He then proceeded to follow the victim’s car before dangerously cutting her off and then getting out to again brandish the knife. A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 34-year-old man in Barmouth yesterday, Monday 25 May. Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to come forward. Emergency Services responded to reports of a man in the water at the beach shortly after 3pm. Despite the best efforts of those who attended, the man was sadly later pronounced dead. A 24-year-old man from the Birmingham area was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody whilst enquiries are ongoing. Popular Swansea attraction Blackpill Lido has been forced to close for several days following a technical issue which has led to damage to parts of the pool flooring. Swansea Council confirmed on Tuesday morning that the lido had been drained after issues were discovered, with a later update revealing that sections of the flooring had come away in some areas. In an update issued at 1.30pm on Tuesday, the council said repair work would now take place over the coming days before the pool can be refilled. The UK has provisionally recorded its hottest spring day on record for the second consecutive day, with temperatures soaring to 35.1°C at Kew Gardens as the heatwave continues across England and Wales. The Met Office confirmed that Tuesday’s reading at Kew Gardens surpassed Monday’s provisional record of 34.8°C, also recorded at the London site.
