Organic farmers across Wales could benefit from £3 million in support payments during 2026-27, the Deputy First Minister will announce at the Hybu Cig Cymru reception at the Winter Fair. An Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) investigation has found that North Wales Police officers acted in line with policies and procedures when treating a woman who died in custody. Helen Williams was arrested at 10.20am on 23 May 2024 outside a property in Bangor, for a recall to prison. The 43-year-old was taken to Caernarfon police station where her detention was authorised at around midday. She remained in custody for approximately 33 hours, awaiting an appearance at court. AFTER nearly five years of dedicated craftsmanship, an incredible Knife Dragon sculpture has been fully completed and now stands proudly outside Coleg Cambria’s Bersham Road site in Wrexham. Family have paid tribute to 45-year-old Michael Griffiths, who died after being involved in a collision with a car in Llantrisant. The incident happened on Heol-Y-Sarn, opposite the main entrance to the Royal Mint, at around 5.50pm on Wednesday 22 October. Michael was a pedestrian and was from the local area. Drivers are being warned of an overnight closure on the M4 westbound between Junction 24 Coldra and Junction 25 Caerleon. The closure will be in place from 8pm on Sunday 23 November until 6am on Monday 24 November to allow planned works to take place safely. A diversion route will be in place for the duration of the closure and road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys. The eastbound carriageway is not affected.
