Prestatyn High pupils have helped extend a helping hand for nature on the school grounds. Pupils recently joined with Denbighshire County Council’s Biodiversity Team and Countryside Rangers to help extend existing hedgerow at the site to provide stronger support for local nature. Work has continued across county schools in the last 12 months to help increase biodiversity and tree canopies across school grounds for supporting nature’s recovery and to provide an educational wellbeing outdoor area for youngsters. Croeso returns to Swansea city centre this month to celebrate all things Welsh. This vibrant, bilingual festival showcases Welsh culture with food and drink, cookery demonstrations, live music, and evening fringe events. More new and improved facilities are on the way to Swansea in a further boost for local skateboarders, BMXers and fans of other wheeled sports Swansea Council is now looking for a company to refurbish the existing Clyne Valley pump track and build a new pump track for novice and junior BMXers at Melin Mynach in Gorseinon. Hundreds of Pembrokeshire schoolchildren will take to the streets of Haverfordwest on Friday, March 7th as the popular St David’s Day parade returns. Organised by the Pembrokeshire Language Forum and Pembrokeshire County Council, the annual parade will set off at 10am for a celebratory procession through the town. Led by the energetic Samba Doc, the parade starts from the car park behind the former county library building on Dew Street. Construction work for the exciting Marks and Spencer site redevelopment in Pontypridd Town Centre will start from February 17. The Council will work closely with its appointed contractor to minimise disruption locally. Derek Walker, the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales has visited Caerphilly to see for himself the work being undertaken as part of the Caerphilly Town 2035 Placemaking Plan. The minister responsible for apprenticeship policy in Wales returned this week to the college where he himself studied as an apprentice to celebrate Apprenticeship Week and extol the benefits of this route into employment. A dedicated women’s health research centre opening this April will provide vital evidence to improve healthcare for women in Wales.
