The new Dyfi Bridge has marked its first anniversary this month, and has made a significant difference to the local community, businesses and people travelling along the A487 in that time. The £46m project includes a 725m viaduct built to replace the 19th century bridge which was not designed to carry the current levels of traffic, and was often closed due to flooding resulting in a 32 mile diversion. Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay’s premier dining and leisure destination, has announced that work is set to begin on the transformation of its car park. After securing planning approval from Cardiff Council, the extension and improvements to the car park will create greater parking capacity for Cardiff Bay to help support the continued investment into the area. The Mermaid Quay car park will stop operating on Sunday 2nd March with demolition beginning shortly after.
