British Cycling has confirmed the route for the Lloyds National Road Championships in Ceredigion between June 26-29. A total of 10 coveted national champion’s jerseys are up for grabs across three days of racing, with the time-trial on Thursday, June 26, the circuit race on Friday, June 27 and the road race concluding the action on Sunday, June 29. Aberystwyth University scientists are helping to monitor the success of the reintroduction of Britain’s second rarest mammal. A member of the mustelid family, which also includes weasels, stoats, badgers and otters, pine martens are similar in size to a small domestic cat.  An elusive carnivore, they usually live in forested areas, where their diet consists mainly of small mammals, as well as fruit and berries. Once widespread across Scotland, England and Wales, excessive hunting and habitat loss led to pine martens becoming one of Britain’s rarest carnivores. North Wales Freemasons visited North Wales Mountain Rescue Association (NWMRA) to present a donation of £20,532. Lodges and Chapters in North Wales were invited to donate up to £250 each, which North Wales Freemasons Charity (NWFC) agreed to match fund up to £10,000, raising the magnificent sum of £20,532. Schools across Wales have been introduced to a series of new work-related challenges designed by Careers Wales to support careers education in the classroom. Developed with the support of employers from a range of industries, the ‘Work in Focus’ challenges help teachers integrate real-world learning into the curriculum, giving students hands-on experience of key sectors. Wales & West Utilities has won a leading industry award in the Investment in People category at the 2025 Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) Gas Industry Awards. A celebration event was held for young people who attend the Inspire groups through Ceredigion Youth Service. It was an opportunity to recognise their achievement of completing an outdoor first aid qualification and attending an 8-week outdoor skills programme this spring. Those who have taken part have successfully achieved their Level 3 Qualification in Outdoor First Aid as well as learning bushcraft and paddling skills on site at Llandysul Paddlers. Two new 100 Clubs are being launched at this year’s Oysho Cardiff Half Marathon to allow people to use the event to improve their health and wellbeing. The clubs will be in the main race which takes place on Sunday 5 October, and for the first time will be launched in the Junior event which kicks off the weekend on Saturday 4 October.
