North Wales Police have confirmed that the body of a man was discovered in the Trearddur Bay area of Holyhead on Saturday, December 7th. The man has now formally been identified as 33-year-old Rowan, who we circulated as missing from Bangor last week. There are thought to be no suspicious circumstances. A man from Shropshire has been jailed after being found guilty of multiple sexual offences. 52-year-old Sean Murphy was convicted of rape, sexual assault by penetration and assault by beating, with the offences having taken place in Townhill, Swansea in May. He has today been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. He has also been made subject of a restraining order for ten years. He will be on the sex offenders register for life. RCT Council officers have undertaken a review of road traffic conditions along the A4059 between Abercynon Roundabout and Cwmbach, following an increase in high severity road traffic collisions in recent years. In response, Council officers are currently in the process of developing proposals to promote and improve road safety at key sections of this main road through the Cynon Valley. The A4059 between Abercynon and Cwmbach has two ‘National Speed Limit’ sections (south and north of Mountain Ash). More than £100m will be invested into coal tip safety this Senedd term. The total, confirmed today by Deputy First Minister with responsibility for Climate Change, Huw Irranca-Davies, will allow the Welsh Government to expand the coal tip safety grant to expediate work on disused tips across the country.
