A new web app created by Powys County Council will help residents and developers identify which trees in their neighbourhoods are protected. Trees which are covered by a preservation order (TPO), or are in a conservation area, cannot be felled, cut back or damaged without first getting permission to carry out the work. A 25-year-old business owner from Rassau, Ebbw Vale is setting an example for fellow employers, after building a business that helps those with mental health illnesses and impairments to build employment skills and gain work experience. A man has been jailed for an assault outside the Claude Pub in Roath, Cardiff. A 25-year-old man suffered serious head and facial injuries, including a double-fractured jaw and a bleed on the brain, as result of the assault earlier this year. The person responsible, Matthew Farmer from Pentwyn, Cardiff, was identified, as a direct result of an appeal for information. Some of Britain’s top airborne displays are set to delight crowds at the Wales Airshow on July 6 and 7. They’ll be enjoyed from the Swansea shoreline by visitors with a new airshow addition – a Veteran’s Village, to honour all ex-service people. The incident happened at in the night of June 20 early hours of 21 June 24 at the Caerphilly Council depot in Abercarn. Gardening and workshop equipment worth thousands of pounds including blowers, chainsaws, hedge cutters and strimmers, were taken alongside a pint of milk from the fridge. The BT wires were cut from a telegraph pole disabling the on-site cameras. The council have managed to minimise impacts on service delivery by sourcing replacement machinery and equipment.
