A STUNNING collection of holiday homes are attracting visitors from across the world to a picturesque corner of North Wales.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) The Annexe and Ty Deryn Y Mor in Llanfaethlu, Anglesey, are part of the five-star FJ Holiday Retreats portfolio.

The family run business – which also has properties in Rhuddlan and Chester – has been supporting local economies and independent firms and producers for almost a decade, welcoming more than 1200 guests during that time.

Owners Sarah and Andrew Foley Jones – the latter is a solicitor and author of smash-hit novel It’s Always Sunny in Wrexham and its popular sequel – “lovingly restored” the accommodation and cater for a range of guests.

“We began with the Red House in Chester before focusing on Anglesey, and really enjoyed receiving people from across the country and beyond,” said Sarah, whose background is in luxury travel.

“Things have steadily built over the years, and we now regularly have guests from all over the world, most recently Australia, Japan, the US and New Zealand.

“They are drawn to the beauty of this region, so we have done a lot to enhance our properties to match the incredible surroundings.”

She added: “To ensure the accommodation remained true to the environment we incorporated local products and bespoke welcome gifts, to support other businesses and showcase the very best of North Wales and the North West.

“To think we are coming up to a decade is quite staggering, it has flown by and so many different guests have visited, from international DJs to celebrities, UK families, retirees, pet owners, bridal parties and young couples.

“We have had an amazing time doing this and look forward to many more years.”

Andrew added: “As parents of two young children we love to cater for families but there is also the opportunity to stay in Chester with its historic city vibe, or the incredible surroundings of Rhuddlan, which is steeped in history and such a stunning place to visit.

“Given our busy lives and careers we never imagined this journey would run parallel for almost a decade, but it has, and we are excited to welcome more visitors in the months and years ahead.”
