Bellway staff pose naked for calendar to raise funds for CRUK

Charity calendar 2022

Brave staff at a housebuilding company have bared all to raise funds for a national cancer charity.

Men and women from Bellway’s divisional office in Cardiff have posed for a semi-naked calendar in aid of Cancer Research UK, the national housebuilder’s nominated charity.

The 2022 calendar was produced after 13 employees from Bellway Wales posed for a series of photographs in a state of undress at one of their developments.

The company has had 200 of the calendars printed and they are on sale for £10 each.

Carly Maidment, Sales Manager for Bellway Wales, said: “I am big fan of the film The Calendar Girls which is about the members of the Women’s institute in Yorkshire and how they raised money for charity by posing for a naked calendar.

“When I was asked to come up with an idea to raise funds for charity, I used this film as an inspiration. As a team leader, I felt I could not ask my colleagues to do something I was not prepared to do, so I posed for the calendar too.

“It was incredibly brave of our models, who ranged from apprentices to directors, to take all of their clothes off and pose naked in front of a photographer and we are very grateful to them all.

“A special mention also has to go to the Level 3 theatrical make-up students from Cardiff and Vale College, who gave up their time for free to help with hair and make-up for the photoshoot.

“We also have to say a big thank you to our marketing agency Think BDW for covering half of the calendar printing costs and to freelance photographer Andrew Carpenter who shot and produced the pictures free of charge.

“The plan now is to sell all 200 of the calendars and raise £2,000 for this incredibly worthwhile cause. We hope the money raised will go to help Cancer Research UK carry on with their pioneering research into a cure for cancer.”
