Swansea Building Society has renewed its commitment to rugby in the city by continuing its back-of-shirt sponsorship of both the Ospreys and Swansea RFC for the 2026/27 season.
The sponsorships will see the Society’s branding feature on the shirts of two of Swansea’s best-known rugby clubs during a landmark season that will see both teams based at the redeveloped St Helen’s.
The Ospreys will make St Helen’s their new home for the 2026/27 season, returning professional rugby to the iconic venue, while Swansea RFC will return to their historic home, after using Dunvant RFC’s Broadacre ground for the previous season.
For Swansea Building Society, the decision to continue supporting both clubs reflects the importance of rugby to the city and its commitment to backing the game at both professional and club level.
It also comes at a significant time for Welsh rugby, with the Welsh Rugby Union working towards a new three-team professional model from the 2028/29 season. The Ospreys signed the new Professional Rugby Agreement earlier this year, providing stability through to the introduction of the new model, although the future West Wales professional licence remains subject to a process that will continue into 2027.
Against that backdrop, the Society believes the return of the Ospreys to Swansea, alongside the continued presence of Swansea RFC at St Helen’s, represents an important opportunity to strengthen the city’s position as a rugby centre.
St Helen’s has been home to Swansea RFC since 1876, and the 2026/27 campaign marks 150 years since the club first played at the ground. The venue will now provide a home for both professional and semi-professional rugby, while also supporting wider community use by schools, clubs and other organisations.
