Blake Morgan’s Cardiff office is celebrating another strong showing in the 2021 edition of the Chambers & Partners Guide, which recognises and recommends the best performing lawyers and legal firms across the UK.

This year, 42 Blake Morgan UK-wide practice areas were ranked as either Band 1 or 2, with a further six ranked as Band 3.

The firm’s Cardiff office had a particularly strong year, with 12 practice areas ranked, including Employment, Public Law, Corporate/M&A, Real Estate, Intellectual Property, and Social Housing. One of the firm’s Cardiff clients noted that ‘the firm is excellent and provides the best service.’ while another said, ‘the firm offers great service with excellent strategy and knowledge’.

This year, the firm’s commitment to high quality client care and a detailed commercial understanding were common themes, with one client noting that the firm’s lawyers are ‘always responsive and have a good commercial understanding… giving us rational solutions; they have always made our lives easier.’ Another client said the firm ‘have the expertise and bench strength of a large firm, with the service delivery of a boutique.’

The Guide also recognises leading lawyers from across the industry. This year, 34 of the firm’s lawyers were ranked as Band 1 or 2.  In Wales 11 lawyers were listed as Band 1 or 2, including Sian Jones, Louise Howell and James Egan in the Real Estate and Social Housing teams, Rob Cherry in Corporate/M&A and Joanne Rees in Construction. Two lawyers in Cardiff were listed as future stars too, including ‘Up and Coming’ Richard Jones in the Corporate/M&A team who was noted by one client as being ‘outstanding’ and Gillian McCue in the Pensions team who was listed as an ‘Associate to Watch’ with one client saying she is ‘very impressive’. Cardiff’s Phil Jardine was also ranked as an ‘Eminent Practitioner’ with one client saying he is ‘really good and very well respected.’

Eve Piffaretti, Partner in Blake Morgan’s Cardiff office said, said: “We’re delighted to see such a strong performance across our Cardiff office in this year’s Chambers & Partners Guide. Throughout what’s been a tough time, our teams have continued to show what makes the firm special and deliver high quality, client-centric advice in a meaningful and commercially sensitive way.

“I’d like to thank all the teams and individuals ranked for their hard work this year and look forward to seeing more names in next year’s edition.”
