Bridgend County Borough Council’s Economic Development and Enterprise team is excited to announce a fresh initiative designed to support local start-ups, creatives, and community groups right in the centre of Maesteg.

This new initiative, titled “For a Limited Time Only…?”, provides short-term access to Unit 14 in Maesteg Market. The space offers a unique opportunity for individuals and businesses to experiment with ideas, display their products, in a high visibility setting and at no cost to them.

Targeted towards makers, small businesses, social enterprises, and creatives from across Bridgend County Borough, this project offers a chance for them to step into a public-facing environment with minimal risk.

Maesteg Market has been a long-standing hub of creative communities, and this initiative breathes new life into that tradition. By offering this pop-up space, where creativity and entrepreneurship can flourish without financial barriers, we are not only supporting our local talent but also enriching the cultural and economic fabric of our town. I am looking forward to seeing the innovative ideas that will come to life from Maesteg businesses in this exciting environment.

Councillor Neelo Farr, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economic Development and Housing

The council is now accepting Expressions of Interest and encourages individuals and groups interested in utilising the space to fill out a brief expression of interest form here.

The pop-up is set to open its doors to the public on Monday 12 May 2025 and will run for a period of six months. Each pop-up, whether for a single day or an entire week, promises to introduce something new to the market, enhancing the vibrancy of the town centre and aiding the local economy.

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
