An event by Business Beats Cancer Cymru, focusing on how businesses can support colleagues and loved ones facing cancer is being held on Thursday 9 October 2025, at The Copthorne Hotel in Cardiff.

Nearly 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime.* Join the team between 11am-1pm to hear powerful personal stories, expert advice from Cancer Research UK’s Lead Nurse for Wales , and practical steps to create a more compassionate workplace. Julie Grabham will also be part of the panel and will share the JG HR Pledge with attendees which advocates for paid time off for cancer screenings and strives to break the taboo around cancer in the workplace.

This year’s World Mental Health Day will be celebrated the next day on 10 October and this year’s theme as set by the World Federation for Mental Health is access to services – mental health in catastrophes and emergencies. The theme highlights the importance of people being able to protect their mental health whatever they’re going through, and this will be a relevant topic of discussion during the Business Beats Cancer Cymru event.Tea, coffee, and pastries will be served on arrival at 11am, and optional networking will take place between 12:30pm-1pm.

With only a limited number of places available, spaces can be secured by simply making a £10 donation with proceeds going directly to Business Beats Cancer Cymru. (*Donations are non-refundable.)

Register for the event by donating £10 and adding your name on the fundraising page. https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/business-beats-cancer-cymru-october-2025-supporting-your-colleagues-through-cancer
