Road closures have been confirmed for the Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10K, which will take place on Sunday 10th May 2026.

The event will see runners take on a new and improved route through Caerphilly town centre and surrounding areas, starting and finishing on Crescent Road.

Alongside the 10K race, the popular 2K event will also return, welcoming hundreds of young runners and families.

To ensure the safety of participants and spectators, a number of temporary road closures and traffic restrictions will be in place throughout the morning:

    • Crescent Road, closed from 6:00am to 1:00pm
    • Piccadilly Square (including Eastview and Southern Street), closed from 9:00am to 10:15am
    • Pontygwindy Road (A469), closed from 9:30am to 10:45am
    • Cardiff Road (A468) eastbound traffic between Cedar Tree Roundabout and Bedwas Bridge Roundabout, closed from 9:00am to 11:30am
    • Business Park Roundabout and surrounding roads, closed from 9:30am to 12:00pm
    • Town centre roads near Caerphilly Castle, closed from 9:00am to 12:00pm

In addition, there will be no access to Gallagher Retail Park from the A468 between 9:00am and 11:30am, and restrictions will be in place on key access routes during closure times.

Despite these closures, access between Lansbury Park and Mornington Meadows will be maintained throughout the event.

Road closure signage and cones will be placed along the route in advance.

Residents are advised that parking restrictions will also be in place on sections of the route, and motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys, and use alternative routes where possible. Bus services may also be subject to temporary changes.

The Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10K continues to be one of the borough’s flagship events, encouraging more people of all ages and abilities to take part in physical activity and supporting wider ambitions set out in the Council’s Sport and Active Recreation Strategy 2019-2029.
