Mermaid Quay is set to sparkle this winter as the Cardiff Bay waterfront destination unveils its 2025 Christmas programme, bringing a full line-up of live music, family activities, festive workshops and seasonal dining.

Visitors can expect twinkling lights, festive entertainment and atmospheric evenings in Tacoma Square, including performances from the Northern Lights Choir on 28 November and a series of live shows from the Cardiff University Show Choir on 7, 11 and 13 December.

For younger visitors, the popular free Elf Workshops return across four dates in December, offering Christmas letter writing, games, crafts and character meet-and-greets inside Unit 2 opposite Coffi Co. Each day begins with a dedicated SEN-friendly session bookable via Eventbrite, ensuring an inclusive and accessible experience for all families.

On Sunday 21 December, families can also look forward to a special appearance from The Grinch, who will be popping up around the Quay throughout the day.

Alongside the events programme, many of Mermaid Quay’s much-loved restaurants are launching seasonal menus, festive cocktails and Christmas Day dining experiences. Visitors can enjoy limited-edition menus at Côte Brasserie, The Botanist, Zizzi, Las Iguanas, Bill’s and Cosy Club amongst others.

Mark Lemon, Centre Manager at Mermaid Quay, said:

“Christmas is always a special time at Mermaid Quay, and this year’s line-up is bigger and better than ever. From choirs and workshops to fantastic festive menus from our restaurants, there’s something for everyone. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to enjoy the atmosphere, support our tenants and make some magical memories in the Bay.”
