From 22 June until 15 September, the bus operator will run an hourly service from the city centre to Penarth Pier on weekends and public holidays.

The 91 service will run from St Mary Street, stopping at the Wales Millennium Centre, Mermaid Quay and Penarth town centre, before reaching Penarth Pier.

Those wishing to take a day trip to Penarth can take advantage of Cardiff Bus’s day and family travel tickets which offer affordable travel throughout the capital and Penarth.

[aoa id=”1″]Adults with the Cardiff Bus app can travel all day for just £3.80, while young persons pay just £2.50. Families can also purchase a family day ticket for just £5.50 on the app or from the driver, for either two adults and three children, or one adult and four children. [/aoa]

Gareth Stevens, Acting Operations and Commercial Director at Cardiff Bus, said: “We know that over the summer months, people like to get out and about locally so we put on this additional service to accommodate their needs.

“There’s a jam-packed schedule of exciting events taking place across the city and Penarth’s attractions and Pier mean it’s a popular place to take the family.

“The regular service combined with our day and family tickets make it an affordable and convenient way to travel.

“Whether you are looking to visit the beach or explore the city this summer, Cardiff Bus will get you there.”
