Festive shoppers and Christmas party-goers are getting travel advice from Cardiff Bus as they prepare for the Christmas season.

The operator is advising customers of timetable changes through the festive and new year period, which will see services altered between December 24 and January 1.

Starting on Christmas Eve all services will follow a Saturday timetable, except for services 30, 98, H59 and X59 which will run a normal weekday service, with an early finish across all routes.

There will be no buses running on Christmas Day, and a special timetable running across certain routes on Boxing Day.

On December 27 and 28 there will be a Saturday timetable on all routes, except for services 30, 98, H59 and X59, which will run a normal weekday service, however night buses will only run on services 18 and 27.

Normal timetables will apply on December 29 and 30, while on New Year’s Eve all services will follow Saturday timetables during the daytime, except for the 30, 98, H59 and X59, which will follow a normal weekday service, with an early finish across all routes.

Cardiff Bus will also be offering free travel on selected routes from approximately 7.30pm on New Year’s Eve, thanks to sponsorship from bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis.

On New Year’s Day there will be a limited daytime timetable running across certain routes, while normal service will resume on January 2.

Travel information is also available from https://www.cardiffbus.com/ along with detailed timetables and last bus times over the Christmas period.

Gareth Stevens, commercial manager at Cardiff Bus, said:

“We have revised this year’s timetables to reflect changes in travel patterns over the festive period to serve the needs of our valued customers.

“We’re continuing to run a comprehensive service to ensure customers can enjoy their festive activities.

“We’re also thrilled to be offering a select number of free routes on our night services for New Year’s Eve once again, which always proves popular across the city.

“We hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and New Year, and we’d like to remind our customers to check our website and social media for all the latest travel news and information.”
