    Cardiff Bus route diversions ahead of Principality Stadium event

    Cardiff Bus customers are being alerted to route diversions due to the WSX World Supercross British Grand Prix event at the Principality Stadium on Saturday 8th October.

    From 14:00 to 22:00 Westgate Street and Wood Street will be closed to traffic.

    During this time, buses will divert and start from the following bus stops:

    The baycar (service 6) will start and end at Customhouse Street stop JG and will not serve St Mary Street, Wyndham Arcade bus stop or Customhouse Street JL.

    Services 7, 8, 9 and X45 will divert via Penarth Road and Callaghan Square in both directions and will not serve St Mary Street, Tudor Street or Clare Road.

    Services 13, 15, 17, 18, 25, 32, 61, 62, 63, 64, 66, 92, 94, 95, 96, 96A – Fitzhamon Embankment.

    Bus stops on Wood Street, Westgate Street and Cardiff Bridge will not be served.

    Services 21, 23, 24, 27 and 35 – Greyfriars Road.

    Bus stops on Westgate Street, Kingsway, St Mary Street, Bute Terrace and Churchill Way will not be served.

    Services 44, 45, 49 and 50 – Bute Terrace.

    Bus stops on Dumfries Place, Greyfriars Road, Kingsway, Castle Street, Westgate Street will not be served.

    There will be no change to routes 1, 2, 5, 11, 28/28A/28B, 30, 51, 52, 53, 57, 58, X45 and X59.

    Gareth Stevens, Commercial Director of Cardiff Bus, reminds customers to plan their journeys before travelling.

    He said: “We are set to divert some bus routes as a result of the event being held in the Principality Stadium this Saturday. We will do everything possible to minimise the impact these route changes will have on our customers.  The alterations we have put in place are the shortest, and most efficient routes to minimise the disruption caused.

    “We apologise for any inconvenience these diversions may cause and we would encourage all our customers to check details before travelling.”
