Phillips Wellbeing marked World Mental Health Day with an inspiring gala dinner at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, bringing together over 125 guests for an evening of reflection, laughter and connection.
The event raised an impressive £10,000 through a silent auction, with proceeds going to support mental health charities including St David’s Hospice and Velindre.
Hosted in the exclusive President’s Lounge, the evening celebrated the official opening of Phillips Wellbeing’s new Cardiff office and showcased the company’s ongoing commitment to improving mental health support across Wales.
Guests enjoyed a champagne reception on the pitch, followed by a three-course meal, live music from The Trends Party Band, and an evening of thought-provoking discussion led by some of the country’s most inspiring voices.
Former Wales rugby star Scott Quinnell served as Master of Ceremonies, bringing his trademark warmth and humour, while special guest Jason Fox OBE, best known for Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins, shared powerful personal reflections on his experience of PTSD, the impact of 9/11, and the importance of resilience and honest conversation.
The event also featured heartfelt contributions from Tracy Phillips, co-founder of Phillips Wellbeing, alongside Emma Sayshell from St David’s Hospice and Emma Hudson from Velindre. Together, they explored the deeper roots of mental health challenges, moving beyond surface-level awareness to discuss real causes and practical ways to support one another.
Nigel Payne, Honorary Consul and President of the Consular Association, was among the distinguished guests in attendance, joining representatives from Case UK, Gwent Police, St David’s Hospice, Velindre, and Wales Week in London.

Co-founders Wayne and Tracy Phillips said:
“World Mental Health Day is about connection and understanding. To see so many people come together in such a positive way was incredible. The stories shared went deeper than surface-level awareness, they sparked real conversations.
“We’re proud to have raised £10,000 for causes that make a real difference, and we hope this event inspires more openness and support for mental wellbeing in workplaces and communities.”
The evening closed with a one-minute round of applause in memory of those lost to mental health, before guests took to the dance floor as The Trends Party Band performed late into the night.
The gala capped off a landmark month for Phillips Wellbeing following the launch of its new Cardiff office earlier in October. With centres now in both Cardiff and Newport, Phillips Wellbeing continues to provide confidential, face-to-face counselling to individuals and organisations across South Wales.
