A Ceredigion Nursery, Plas Gogerddan Nursery has won Nursery of the Year Award in Wales in the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) Awards held on 24 June 2022.

Gofal Plant Gogerddan Childcare was established in 2012 by Managing Director, Emma Healy and is situated in a wonderful natural environment surrounded by rural life.

Plas Gogerddan Nursery is one of many nurseries in Ceredigion who delivers the Foundation Phase education funded by Ceredigion County Council within their Cylch Meithrin sessions.

The Nursery is registered with Welsh Government’s Childcare Offer for Wales scheme to support working parents/carers of 3 to 4 year olds claim funds to help cover the cost of childcare. The Nursery also offers the Flying Start Scheme to support families who are eligible for the scheme with their 2 year olds.

Emma Healy, Managing Director said: “Our staff team is our best resource, we listen to their ideas and work to support them in their practice, focussing on their skills and interests. They are very enthusiastic in their roles and go above and beyond in their roles regularly.”

Over the last few years, we have been asked to share our practice with other settings from Ceredigion which is a real privilege. Receiving this prestigious award has really boosted our confidence and this recognition nationally is such an achievement for a small business in Aberystwyth! We would just like to thank all of our families for all their votes and support, this mean so much to us at Gofal Plant Gogerddan Childcare.”

Wyn Thomas, Cabinet Member responsible for Schools, Lifelong Learning and Skills, said: “To be recognised as the best nursery in Wales is a fantastic achievement, well done to all at Gofal Plant Gogerddan Childcare.”
