    Cold nights and sunny days forecast for Wales this week

    Wales is expected to see improving weather conditions later today as patchy rain clears southwards, making way for sunny spells across much of the country.

    According to the Met Office, outbreaks of rain will gradually move away through Monday morning, with brighter conditions developing during the afternoon. A northerly breeze is also expected to strengthen through the day.

    Despite the sunshine, temperatures will remain cooler than usual for this time of year, with highs reaching around 15°C.

    Tonight will stay dry for most areas, with a mix of cloud and long clear spells developing. Forecasters have warned there is a risk of rural frost in eastern parts of Wales, with temperatures potentially dropping as low as 1°C overnight. Cloud is then expected to increase from the northwest towards dawn.

    Tuesday is forecast to begin cloudy, with patchy rain spreading across Wales during the morning. Conditions should improve later in the day, turning drier and brighter with sunny spells developing during the afternoon. Some isolated showers are possible in northern areas later on, with temperatures again reaching around 15°C.

    Looking ahead to the rest of the week, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to bring blustery conditions with sunny spells and heavy showers. Friday currently looks more settled, with drier and brighter weather likely across many areas.

    However, the Met Office says temperatures will continue to feel chilly through the week, with further overnight frost possible in some places.
